Clearing the browser cache

Each internet browser stores a specific amount of data to allow Elite and Elite field to store configuration information. In Elite this will typically stay in sync with MEFIRS. In Elite Field it will attempt to sync when a connection is available. When this storage becomes full, Elite and Elite Field syncs can fail. You can fix this issue and ensure you are using the latest configuration by clearing your browser cache. Use the following directions to clear the file storage (cache) without losing incident data.

Note: The process for clearing the cache for Elite is the same for Elite Field

Clearing the cache in Chrome

  1. In the Chrome browser, click the three dots.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. In the Privacy and security section, click Delete Browsing Data.
  4. In Clear Delete data:
    1. Check All Time
    2. Check Browsing history
    3. Check Cached images and files
  5. Click Delete data.

Clearing the cache in Microsoft Edge

  1. In the Edge browser, click the three dots.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. In the Privacy, search, and services section, click Clear Browsing Data.
  4. For the Clear browsing data now, click the Choose what to clear button.
  5. In Clear Delete data:
    1. Select All Time
    2. Check Browsing history
    3. Check Cached images and files
  6. Click Clear now.

Clearing the cache in Firefox

  1. In the Firefox browser, click the menu icon.
  2. Click Options.
  3. Click Privacy.
  4. Click clear your recent history.
  5. Click Details.
  6. Set Time range to clear = Everything and check Cache.
  7. Click Clear Now.

ImageTrend recommends setting Elite Field to automatically delete posted incidents from Elite Field to reduce data storage on the browser. The ImageTrend Help/University article Elite Field General Settings provides details on configuring this feature.
