MEFIRS Lost Patient Care Report

The two most common reasons that a user is unable to find a patient care report in MEFIRS are:

  1. The report was entered into Elite Field and has not been posted to Elite.
  2. The report was saved in Elite without a Unit Notified By Dispatch Date/Time.

Please check each of these in an effort to find a missing incident.

The report was entered into Elite Field and has not been posted to Elite.

There are two means by which a user can enter a report in MEFIRS: Elite and Elite Field. Elite is a cloud-based system that, other than brief maintenance periods, is always online and available. Elite Field is a web application that users can run on a device, even when the device does not have a connection to the internet. Elite Field is generally considered a data entry tool and is not suitable for long-term storage of patient care report data.

When a report is entered into Elite Field it will not exist in Elite until the report is posted. Within elite field there are two ways to post an incident:

  1. On the dashboard select the incident you wish to post and then click the post button.
  2. When the incident is open there will be a post button on the top of the screen that will allow you to post the incident.

Note: The Elite Field device must have an internet connection to post an incident to Elite.

The report was saved in Elite without a Unit Notified By Dispatch Date/Time.

The view EMS incident is based upon the Unit Notified By Dispatch Date/time. When the Unit Notified By Dispatch Date/Time is not entered, or entered with an incorrect date value then the incident may not appear within the date range selected.
