How detailed does the patient report have to be to the EMS unit?

Solution

The report to the EMS unit must provide basic information regarding the results of the assessment; patient age, sex, chief complaint, mechanism of injury (if indicated) mental status, results of the candidate’s assessment, patient’s respiratory status and baseline vitals are all components of such a report.  The important points are that the candidate conveys a report that includes several of the components described above and that the information conveyed is accurate.
